Annecy 2026 : Masterclass

Masterclass : Thursday 25 June 2026 at 2:30 PM

« Stéphanie Lansaque and François Leroy talk about their work, Asian inspirations (where they live some of the year), their relationship with genre cinema and the endless possibilities that animation offers. »

The discussion will be moderated by Sophie Grech and preceded by a screening of the duo’s latest film, Sisowath Quay.
 

Sisowath Quay will also be part of the Now it’s horror turn program: « This is where we really let loose on spine-chilling thrills! A little assortment of stories with a nasty twist and protagonists who find themselves completely out of luck. »

The program will be screened:

  • Monday, June 22 at 9:30 p.m. at Pathé 7
    Wednesday, June 24 at 10:00 p.m. at Pathé 9 and 10

« Stéphanie Lansaque et François Leroy nous parlent de leur travail, de leurs inspirations asiatiques (où ils vivent une partie de l’année), de leur rapport au cinéma de genre et des possibilités offertes par l’animation. »

La conversation sera animée par Sophie Grech et sera précédée de la projection du dernier film du tandem, Quai Sisowath.

Quai Sisowath fera également partie du programme A vous l’horreur : « Puisqu’il est question de frissons, c’est ici qu’on vous sort le grand jeu ! Petit florilège d’histoires qui tournent mal et de protagonistes dans de beaux draps. »

Le programme sera projeté :
  • Lundi 22 /06 à 21h30 au Pathé 7
  • Mercredi 24/06 à 22h au Pathé 9 et 10

Annecy 2026 : Retrospective

This year, the Annecy Festival is showcasing our films in a retrospective program entitled « Dreaming of Asia » which will be screened:

  • Sunday, June 21 at 6:00 PM (English subtitles) at Bonlieu Petite salle
  • Friday, June 26 at 4:30 PM (English subtitles) at Pathe 6
  • Saturday, June 27 at 9:30 AM (French subtitles) at Pathe 5

Two enthusiastic reviews of ‘Sisowath Quay’

Last week, we were delighted to discover two very enthusiastic reviews of ‘Sisowath Quay’ online. One came from the website ‘A Young(ish) Perspective‘ and was written by Finn Baldwin. Here’s an excerpt: « It reaches a level of depth with its allegory that feels on par with what is usually only achieved by feature-length films. »
The other came from Joe Bendel’s blog. Here’s an excerpt: « Sisowath Quay is a must-see. At sixteen minutes, it also has sufficient time to tell a fully self-contained story. Yet, the eye-popping visuals are what most viewers will remember. Very highly recommended »

La semaine dernière, nous avons eu le plaisir de découvrir deux critiques très enthousiastes de «Quai Sisowath» en ligne. L’une provenait du site «A Young(ish) Perspective» et était signée Finn Baldwin. En voici un extrait : «Avec ses allégories, le film atteint une profondeur que l’on retrouve habituellement dans les longs métrages.»

06/02/2026 – Clermont-Ferrand – Blood – Bloody Night

‘Sisowath Quay’ will be screened at the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival as part of Blood – Bloody Night on February 6, 2026, at 9:30 pm in the Cocteau Room. You can find the program here, which includes 7 short films produced in Asia (Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia) and France. Don’t miss it!

« Quai Sisowath » sera projeté au festival du court-métrage de  Clermont-Ferrand dans le cadre de la Blood – Bloody Night le 06/02/2026 à 21h30 dans la sallle Cocteau. Vous pouvez découvrir ici le programme qui regroupe 7 courts produits en Asie (Malaisie, Singapour, Indonésie) et France. A ne pas manquer !

Performance award – Paris International Animation Film Festival 2026

‘Sisowath Quay’ won the Perfomance Award at Paris International Animation Film Festival. This award was created to highlight not only the voices but also the character design and acting. A wonderful initiative!

The jury was composed of Apolline Caron-Ottavi, Frédéric Doazan, Alice Dollon, Kevin Giraud, Marion Jamault, and Mona-Lisa Lanfant. Here is their statement : « For all these characters, embodied or disembodied, who will haunt us for a long time to come, the jury wished to give the Performance Award to the protagonists of ‘Sisowath Quay’ by Stéphanie Lansaque and François Leroy. »

« Quai Sisowath » a remporté le prix d’interprétation au Paris International Animation Film Festival. Ce prix a été créé pour mettre en avant non seulement les voix mais aussi le graphisme des personnages et de l’acting. Une belle iniative!

Avec son association BoromeyKhmer, Veysna Zacarias-Tith a à cœur de partager la culture cambodgienne, notamment à travers des vidéos sur les réseaux sociaux. 08/01/2026 : Quai Sisowath sur Arte

« Quai Sisowath » sera diffusé sur Arte (France et Allemagne) dans l’émission Court-Circuit du jeudi 8 Janvier 2026 à partir de 00h25. Il sera suivi d’une projection privée (et toujours disponible sur le site d’Arte  et en Replay pendant 60 jours).

« Sisowath Quay » will be broadcast on Arte TV channel (France and Germany) in the program Court-Circuit / Kurzschluss on Thursday, January 8, 2026 from 00:20 (and still available on Arte website).

César 2026

« Sisowath Quay » is part of the Official Selection for the César  in the « Animated Short Film » category. Nominations will be announced on January 28, 2026.
